What is Wordle?
Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text
Steps to create your own Wordle cloud from your twitter timeline.
- Use TweetDumpr to generate a .csv of your timeline.
- Open the .csv file in Excel (or alike) and remove the timestamp column and column labels.
- Save as a flat (not delimited) text file.
- Open the text file and copy the entire contents.
- Head over to Wordle and have some fun!
Overall I think it is a pretty interesting and introspective way to look at the things I say on twitter. Obviously I talk about the iPhone and use the word “just” too much. Duly noted.
